Tutorial, Hem Split Opening for the Balmain Knit Tunic, Style Arc

When I realized that I had more photos for this tutorial, than the allowed 10 photos for one IG post, I did a survey in my Stories on IG, asking if you preferred the tutorial split up in two posts on IG (part 1&2) or here on the blog. Guess which won...haha.

If you want to read my other info about this make, size, fabric etc, you'll have to go read THIS post on Instagram.

Como Set, StyleARC

I hope you are ready to cringe and chuckle. I did something SO dumb and I dedicate this post to the face palm!
And even though I could have made this post without telling you, I definitely want to use it as an opportunity to remind everyone to not "be like Mie", ha.

This is the Como Set from StyleARC and I bought it pretty much on the spot when it released (before ambassador agreement were reached in case you wondered.)

Ruri Sweatpants, Named

It's funny how you sometimes just think you are going to make some sweatpants with some fun details and you end up with several muslins and some serious pattern alterations.

Edited: It's also funny how you start on a blog post in the end of March and it's now the last day of August and I just spent 15 minutes finishing this post. Sheesh, get it together woman!

But at least it worked out in the end.
This is a post about the Ruri Sweatpants from Named Clothing.

Eden Knit Dress, Style Arc

I don't think anyone would doubt that this dress is right up my alley.

It's knit, it's swingy and it has some interesting lines which of course, duh, calls for color blocking.

This is the Eden Knit Dress from Style Arc.

V Neck Blouson Jacket

I was overwhelmed by the thought of boiling down all the info on this jacket to a few IG posts, so I decided to make a short blog post instead.

BurdaStyle Boyfriend Cardigan 09/2013-111

I know this might sound a bit strange but I totally love to browse through BurdaStyle's giant archive of patterns and try to decipher some of those patterns where the sewn model and /or fabric is not really speaking to me. Basically trying to make lemons into lemonade I guess.

The Kyoto Tee by Papercut Patterns

I promised you a blog post about this pattern, the Kyoto Tee by Papercut Patterns, because I had some concerns/comments.

And here you are....

Tuuli V-neck Jersey Dress by Named.

I can't tell you how good it feels to finally have sewn this dress. The Tuuli V-neck Jersey Dress by Named. Why you might ask? Well, I've had it printed and taped together forever. Like 6 months or so. And it's been lying on my floor looking at me with a clear question in mind....WHEN are you going to sew ME?

Winter Version of Inari Tee Dress.

I have already declared on Instagram that I have a newfound friendship with the Inari Tee Dress from Named Clothing. That was when I posted a burgundy version.

But I actually made this one before the burgundy and have been saving it for a cold weather blog post.

Inespiration

In case you've noticed that my posting on social media had gone down a bit lately, you will get the reason today.
Eeeek, surprises are so hard to keep.

Sara has asked a bunch of bloggers to make a tribute sewing blogger day to the one and only Inês from the blog La Folie, and that was one of the easiest blog series I ever agreed to be part of.

BurdaStyle Overall Skirt 07/2016#109 and Paola Turtleneck Tee.

I'm stuck between being really eager to share this outfit with you and not feeling like writing any blog posts at the moment. Talk about first world problems, ha.

Oversized Sweatshirts and Knit Pencil Skirts

I feel like my sewing is rather random most of the time. If I have a plan it usually gets overtaken by something else that catches my attention. Or if I buy fabric with the intention for a specific pattern, I would say three out of four times it ends up as something else.

Not this time.....

The Autumn Dress by Style Arc Patterns

And yes, I did say dresses in plural. A floral printed woven one where you barely can see any details and an olive green knit one that is a bit more cooperative on photos.

Pony Tank Dress by Chalk and Notch

Today I have a photo heavy and text light post for you.
That's usually how it goes when you sew something you love. Not much to say but a lot to show off, right!

This is the Pony Tank Pattern from Chalk and Notch in a dress version.

Keely Knit Top Turned Dress.

This fabric gave me stress. It did that because I couldn't decide what to make with it. I love this print and color SO much and I wanted to make something really really good with it. You know the feeling, right?! I had lots of options but what would be the very best solution?

KANA'S STANDARD for kids - Ruffle Top and Pants.

I said on Instagram that I wasn't going to blog this, but together with a few encouragements, I also realized there was quite a lot of information I wanted to give about this book and outfit that was better suited for a blog post than an Instagram post.

The patterns are from the Japanese Sewing book KANA'S STANDARD for kids. It's definitely not my first time sewing Japanese sewing patterns but it was my first time sewing Kana's patterns. And almost by coincidence, I found a HUGE surprise.

Driftless Cardigan and Paola Turtleneck Tee with Nosh Fabrics

This is my fourth time making The Driftless Cardigan from Grainline Studio and it is finally making it to the blog. Kind of crazy, especially since I think I'm considering it my ultimate favorite adult pattern...I think!

Keely Knit Top from Style Arc Patterns.

It's been a while since I posted a Sunday post and since I took photos for three posts last week then I thought I better get on it before I end up with a blog queue...bahaha, just kidding, like that would ever happen around here!
