Sew Japan Guest Post from Petit a Petit and family.

You are in a for a treat today. My incredible and always inspiring friend Celina is guest posting here today. She explains why just below.
Enjoy!

Hello! My name is Celina and I blog over at Petit a Petit and family. I have an amazing team of contributors, Mie being one of them. When Mie and I were discussing dates for her next post and we settled on the 29th of February, I felt a little jealous! I mean how often does one get to say they posted on the 29th? So we had the brilliant idea for me to guest post, and that is why I am here today! Mie and I also share the love for Japanese sewing books and so this month I am sharing my #sewjapan post here. I hope you will come and link up on the Petit a Petit Blog, we have a really awesome giveaway and you will get to see what beautiful outfits Mie has sewn.

Burda Style Oversized French Terry Cardigan.

I feel like I talked so much about this cardigan in my previous post, that I really just needed to show it to you.
So I got it together and did a quick photo shoot today.

It's my first version of the Burda Style Open Shawl Collar Jacket 11/2015 #103A made with French Terry only. That definitely gives it a cardigan feel and look but can of course be used outside for a spring day too.

Burda Style Oversized Coatigan.

I FINALLY got around to blog about the first of many garments I made myself in the last 2-3 months. My sewing room is packed and I seriously need it out of there and into my closet so I can use it. In other words, I'm a highly motivated blogger, ha.

During Black Friday I bought my first Burda Style pattern. Okay okay, patternS...I bought 6 and so far I have used two of them...one of them even two times. It's actually the coatigan you are looking at. I have also made it in a French terry only but that will be for a future post.

I'm calling this version a coatigan because, well that is how I treated it, fabric-choice-wise and sewing-technique-wise. More about that later.
The Burda Style name is: Open Shawl Collar Jacket 11/2015 #103A.

Safari Raglan Tee With a Pleated Hem.

Welcome to day 2 of the Safari Raglan Tee and Dress Week. If you missed the first post you can find it HERE.

Today we are venturing a little bit out of the original pattern by adding a lower pleated hem piece which turns the tee into a dress. The pattern also comes with a dress option but I have not sewn that yet so I'm not going to talk about that. Yikes, does that mean we need a day 4?!

Safari Raglan Tee and Dress, Original Version.

So are you ready for my personal Safari Raglan Tee and Dress Week?
It might sound a bit over the top for a raglan tee and dress pattern - even a very very good one - but I ended up with three different garments (well, four but two are the same) and it would just be a big mess to put them all in the same post SO here we are...three days, three versions and three posts, yay!
