I know this might sound a bit strange but I totally love to browse through BurdaStyle's giant archive of patterns and try to decipher some of those patterns where the sewn model and /or fabric is not really speaking to me. Basically trying to make lemons into lemonade I guess.
I can't tell you how good it feels to finally have sewn this dress. The Tuuli V-neck Jersey Dress by Named. Why you might ask? Well, I've had it printed and taped together forever. Like 6 months or so. And it's been lying on my floor looking at me with a clear question in mind....WHEN are you going to sew ME?
I have already declared on Instagram that I have a newfound friendship with the Inari Tee Dress from Named Clothing. That was when I posted a burgundy version.
But I actually made this one before the burgundy and have been saving it for a cold weather blog post.
In case you've noticed that my posting on social media had gone down a bit lately, you will get the reason today.
Eeeek, surprises are so hard to keep.
Sara has asked a bunch of bloggers to make a tribute sewing blogger day to the one and only InĂªs from the blog La Folie, and that was one of the easiest blog series I ever agreed to be part of.
I'm stuck between being really eager to share this outfit with you and not feeling like writing any blog posts at the moment. Talk about first world problems, ha.
I feel like my sewing is rather random most of the time. If I have a plan it usually gets overtaken by something else that catches my attention. Or if I buy fabric with the intention for a specific pattern, I would say three out of four times it ends up as something else.
And yes, I did say dresses in plural. A floral printed woven one where you barely can see any details and an olive green knit one that is a bit more cooperative on photos.
This fabric gave me stress. It did that because I couldn't decide what to make with it. I love this print and color SO much and I wanted to make something really really good with it. You know the feeling, right?! I had lots of options but what would be the very best solution?
This is my fourth time making The Driftless Cardigan from Grainline Studio and it is finally making it to the blog. Kind of crazy, especially since I think I'm considering it my ultimate favorite adult pattern...I think!
